Although we have many adventurous sports that engage us awe-inspiring experience, skydiving is one of the sports that keep our heart and mind healthy. From tandem skydiving to formation skydiving, diversified training style, disciplines and types of jumps makes skydiving a mega experience for adventurers. Many passionate and dedicated adventurers join various skydiving competitions held at some of the best places to sky dive in the world. The list of places includes Fox Glacier in New Zealand, Interlaken in Switzerland, Hawaii in the US and Pattaya in Thailand among various others.
Accelerated freefall or AFF is one of the skydiving forms which is generally used to train new skydivers. This is so-called because AFF is the most effective way to teach and learn skydive. You can learn about how your body flies in the air, deploy a parachute and learn how to fly on earth safely. The course also teaches what must be done in case things does not go as planned in your ground training.
In this type of skydiving, you will jump from the height accompanied by two professional instructors who hold you in the beginning but remains less active and let you fly independently. When you make your final AFF jump, you will get one professional for assistance and then it is expected that you might get your individual skydiving license.
Formation skydiving is one of the most common forms which is generally seen in movies and shows. This is the type where skydivers fall in a belly-down towards earth position and make various forms of shapes by holding other skydiver’s hands, legs or arms.
Formation skydiving is probably the second type of skydiving learnt after accelerated skydiving. When you learn the initial one, you become aware of flying safely in the air with others and how you can control your mind and body. Formation skydiving is also used in competitions done in groups of skydivers. They involve a set of unique formations faster and impressive than the others.
Wing suiting skydiving
One of the skydiving forms is wingsuit flying which you must have seen before many times. This form is also known as squirrel suits form in which a wingsuit worn by skydivers make them look like squirrels flying in the sky.
Well, the wingsuit only looks like one but in reality, the wingsuit’s have wings attached that needs to be controlled by the skydiver to control their directions and rate acceleration. Wingsuit flyers spend comparatively longer time in the air since they can easily travel horizontally unlike formation flyers who can fall straight on the ground.
Freestyle skydiving is one of the types in which the divers can compete or fly solo or in pairs. Freestyle diving is just like wandering or dancing with the wind that encourages divers to show creativity in the air. Worldwide competitions and events have series of rounds where freestyle solo skydivers are allowed to express their choreography. In many places, freestyle skydiving is arranged to celebrate the non-belly-to-earth flying style where the skydivers move in unique ways.
One of the most popular forms of skydiving worldwide is tandem skydiving which is usually liked the most by first-time skydivers. Being a tandem skydiving student, you will be paired with a professional tandem skydiving instructor who operates the equipment’s for you to make your skydiving experience great.
You must have seen that every tandem skydiver is actually a student rather than a passenger. This means, in this form of skydiving, you are not just hanging around but have to play an important part in skydiving. In a minimum 30 minutes drive, you get expertise about skydiving, exit position and how to make your body arched-shaped for a freefall. Most importantly, tandem skydiving teaches you how to lift your legs while landing back on earth. In other words, tandem skydiving is one of the skydiving forms where you can skydive without going through a training period to enjoy incredible jumps.
One of the important forms of skydiving which is getting much significance is camera flying. As the name says, high-quality cameras are attached to your helmets from where you can capture magical views from a stunning height of the ground. When making a tandem skydive, you can ask your professional instructor to place cameras while you jump with them and record your flying experience like a treasure.
In competitions, camera flyers constitute an important part of the event since they record the skydiver’s positions briefly for judges. When we skydive outside the competitions, we still seek to improve our skydiving skills. Thus, by having a glimpse of our skydiving style, we can get coached ourselves’ or advise others on how to do better.
