J J Valaya
Fashion Design Council of India founding member JJ Valaya serves on its board of governors. In his 40,000-square-foot headquarters in Delhi, the designer employs roughly 250 embroidery workers and artisans. Several GCC royals and celebrities, including Joseph Fiennes, Cate Blanchett, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor, have worn his outfits. He is still one of the most well-known names in the Indian wedding trousseau industry and was one of the first Indian labels to invest in sampling, research, and development at their “House of Valaya” location in Manesar, on the outskirts of Delhi. For her wedding, Gul Panag wore a JJ Valaya design.
Rohit Bal launched his work in New Delhi in 1986 with his brother Rajiv Bal’s company, Orchid Oversea Pvt.Ltd, and launched his first independent collection in 1990. Bal was also picked to work with the Khadi Gram Udyog, Panchkula’s largest handloom textile company. Bal is the creator of the outfits for the renowned Indian game show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Any list of the top Indian designers would be incomplete if Rohit Bal was not included. Most of his designs have a Kashmiri influence, which adds to their intrigue and beauty.
Ritu Kumar is a celebrity designer who has garnered recognition for her significant contribution to the world of fashion in India. some of the frequent wearers of her pieces were Jemima Khan and Princess Diana.
